Device Part
A device is typically a physical component where connections start or end, and may contain multiple connections, such as an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) or a fuse box.

Assigning a Device Part
Right-click on the heading of a Group in the Schematic or Layout View and select the device part you want to assign.
Hiding Parts from BOM
Generally you will not want the components inside a Device to be shown in the BOM. However you may want to assign parts to the components inside the group so that when you mate a connector or terminal it can validate that this is an appropriate connection. Select the components you wish to exclude from the BOM, right-click, and deselect Include in BOM.
