Beta has Ended

The harness.design beta ended on April 10th, 2026. A Pro subscription is now required to add more than 100 connections per harness.

What Changed

harness.design launched in beta at the end of October 2025. Since then, we’ve been building and refining the tool based on feedback from the community. On April 10th, 2026, we moved to full release.

With the full release, we introduced a Pro plan to support continued development of the tool.

What happens to my existing harnesses?

All harnesses created during the beta will remain fully accessible. If a harness exceeds 100 connections and you are not on the Pro plan, you will not be able to add new connections until the total drops below 100. You can still use and edit your harness, but adding new connections is restricted. To free up capacity, simply delete connections until you are back under the limit.

What is a connection?

A connection is a single conductor running between two components, such as a connector cavity, terminal, splice, resistor, or diode.

Some examples:

  • A single wire = 1 connection
  • A 4-core cable with a shield = 5 connections
  • Twisted wires = 1 connection per wire

How do I see the number of connections?

Go to the Connections view and scroll to the bottom to see the number of connections in the harness.

What happens if I cancel the Pro plan?

If you cancel your Pro subscription, your plan will remain active until the end of your current billing period. Once the period ends, your account will revert to the Free plan, and any harnesses exceeding 100 connections will no longer accept new connections until the total is reduced below the limit. You can still use and edit those harnesses, but adding new connections will be restricted.
