Cable Part
A bundled assembly of one or more conductors with insulation and protective layers, used to transmit power or signals between components. A cable can have a shield assigned to it.

For gauge, you can enter the following units (set the default unit under Main Menu → Settings → Harness settings):

Jacket, Diameter and Insulation are small dimensions: a plain number is read in mm, or in when the harness’s default length unit is imperial. You can also type the unit, such as 6.2 mm.
Cores
The cores are listed below the part’s other details, one row per core, with columns for Color, Stripe, Gauge and Insulation. Press Enter in a core’s Gauge or Insulation to move to the same field on the next core (shift Enter for the previous one), so you can type a whole column in one go.
Cross Section
A cable part shows its Cross Section below the part image in its details: the cores packed inside the shield (when Shielded) and the jacket, drawn to scale in the part’s colours, with the overall diameter. Twisted cores are packed together. If any core has no gauge, it is sized as 0.5 mm², drawn with a dashed outline, and the diameter is marked (estimated).
A Diameter smaller than the packed cores draws them shrunk to fit inside the jacket; a larger one leaves more space around them. The same sizes are used for the cable in bundle cross sections.
