Bundles can now carry one label in the middle instead of a label at each end. Formboards are drawn at one fixed scale with a separate annotation scale for everything that isn’t the harness, connector pinouts can be mirrored, and the PDF export adds US page sizes. You can also hide twisted wires headers, look up every mouse action on the Hotkeys page, and enter a VAT or GST number when you subscribe.

Bundle Label in the Middle

right-click a bundle and use the new label position button next to the label’s colour to choose Same label at both ends, Different label at each end, or One label in the middle. A middle label is drawn once, centred halfway along the bundle and following its bends. It’s also drawn on bundles that run between two branch points, where end labels aren’t shown, so you can name a length of trunk. The PDF export draws it the same way.

Formboards at One Fixed Scale

Every formboard is now drawn at the same scale. Bundle lengths, bend radii, connector drawings and bundle thickness are to scale, and a new Annotation scale under Main Menu → Harness settings → Formboard sets how large everything else is drawn: labels, part bars, notes, tables, pinouts, images, splices, diodes, resistors and mates. Turn it up to keep labels readable on a large board, or down on a small one; it never changes the size of the harness. Existing formboards are converted when you open them and keep their bundle lengths.

Mirrored Pinouts

A connector part’s pinout can now be mirrored, for a part that’s the opposite gender of the housing the pinout was drawn for. Hover the pinout in the part’s details and click Mirror pinout, or turn on Mirrored in the catalog pinout picker to see and assign every pinout mirrored.

US Page Sizes in the PDF Export

The Schematic, Layout, Parts and Connections pages of the PDF export can now use Letter, Tabloid and ANSI C as well as A4, A3 and A2.

Other Improvements

  • Hide twisted wires headers: turn off Show twisted wires headers under Main Menu → Harness settings → Schematic to draw twisted wires without their header bar. The ID and label move to a small box above the wires, and no wire moves. Read more…
  • Mouse shortcuts: Main Menu → Preferences → Hotkeys now lists the mouse actions too, such as panning, mating a terminal and moving a cavity’s wires to another cavity. Read more…
  • Wires drawn at their size: on a bundle with no covering, each wire’s band now takes a share of the bundle’s width in proportion to its diameter. Read more…
  • Catalog search by alias: the Parts Catalog also finds parts by other numbers their manufacturer publishes for them, and shows the number you searched for beside the part number. The gauge: filter accepts a plain number, such as gauge:20. Read more…
  • Tax and invoices: tax is calculated at checkout, and if you’re buying for a business you can enter your VAT or GST number. Manage subscription & billing in your account lets you add a business name, tax ID or billing address and download invoices. Read more…
  • PDF wiring tables show internal part numbers when Show the internal part number instead is on, as the canvas does.
  • Selected group frames and notes have thicker borders, and in light mode a selected connector, terminal or branch point has a black ring around its halo.
  • Sharing is now the last tab in Harness settings.

Fixes

  • Closed part pickers no longer show on top of the right-click menu.
  • Fixed crashes in part pickers listing library parts with no number, in Parts view search, and when syncing a harness open in several tabs.
  • Cavity seals assigned to individual cavities are counted in the BOM.
  • Rerouting a wire or bundle with an AI assistant no longer leaves stray layout points behind, and stray points in existing harnesses are cleaned up when you open them.
  • Invitees get their “you can view this harness” email again, and a share email that fails to send is reported.
  • Layout group frames no longer leave room for splices, diodes and resistors, so they fit their contents when inline components are hidden.
  • Wiring tables show a seal bar only when a seal applies to the cavity.
  • The catalog drawings picker finds a drawing by any cavity count of the parts that use it.
